Application Process
1. Resume highlighting the following:
a. School Activities: List the high school and/or college activities you have participated in, including responsibilities, offices held and honors received.
b. Community Activities: List activities that you have participated in, offices held and awards received.
c. Horse Related Activities: List all activities you have participated in, both light and draft horses, awards received, and how you were personally involved in each activity. (4-H, FFA, county, state and national shows, plowing matches, etc.)
2. Statement about your MDHBA member Sponsor:
a. What is your relationship to your sponsor (parent, grandparent, neighbor, etc)?
b. How are/were you involved with the member and their horse related activities?
3. Essay:
a. Please include a 300-400 word essay that explains why you should be chosen for the Michigan Draft Horse Breeders Educational Scholarship.
4. Letters of Recommendation: Please include three letters of recommendation from the following sources:
a. 1 letter from your MDHBA member sponsor (sponsor must have been a dues paying member of the MDHBA 2 of the past 3 years)
b. 2 letters from any other source not related to you.
5. Transcript:
a. Include a copy of the applicants's transcript (high school or college)
